Neal A. Maxwell

"Within the swirling global events- events from which we are not totally immune- is humanity's real and continuting struggle: whether or not, amid the cares of the world, we really choose, in the words of the Lord, to "care for the life of the soul." Whatever our anxious involvements with outward events, this inner struggle proceeds in both tranquil and turbulent times. Whether understood or recognized, this is the unchanging moral agendum from generation to generation."

Diana Krall

Pick Yourself Up

Yes, the Diana Krall concert was M-azing! Almost surreal. Katie (and Dave pitched in, too) bought me tickets for my birthday back in April. So, Katie and I drove up to the Hollywood Bowl (enjoying Domino's bread sticks on our way =) and kicked it with the artsy/my-kid's-at-Brown/wine bibber folk. I closed my eyes and heard her sing and remembered how my whole life I'd been listening to a recording and for the first time she was right in front of me singing. CRAZY AWESOME! Her whole band is amazing. Jeff Hamilton on the drums and John Clayton on Bass! I can't believe I saw them live! I didn't know the one on guitar but he was really good.

So So Jealous. I wish I was there with you. That is one awesome birthday gift- maybe someday we can go to a Diana concert together and celebrate the good old days. It looks like you guys had an awesome time. Your sis is AMAZING. Give her a hug from me.
