Neal A. Maxwell

"Within the swirling global events- events from which we are not totally immune- is humanity's real and continuting struggle: whether or not, amid the cares of the world, we really choose, in the words of the Lord, to "care for the life of the soul." Whatever our anxious involvements with outward events, this inner struggle proceeds in both tranquil and turbulent times. Whether understood or recognized, this is the unchanging moral agendum from generation to generation."

Drive

The answer is go on a drive. It's the first thing I want to do after something emotionally traumatic happens. I want to be alone and scream without anyone being able to hear me; to cry as loudly and pitifully as I want to without soliciting anyone's comfort.

Maybe it's the feeling that I'm going somewhere. Sad events are damming. I'm sad.

And when you have kids, you lock yourself in the closet. They will understand.

Were you sad because I got married? I'm sorry Charlotte, but I still love you. And my husband. I was so happy to see you at my reception, no reason to cry!!
