Neal A. Maxwell

"Within the swirling global events- events from which we are not totally immune- is humanity's real and continuting struggle: whether or not, amid the cares of the world, we really choose, in the words of the Lord, to "care for the life of the soul." Whatever our anxious involvements with outward events, this inner struggle proceeds in both tranquil and turbulent times. Whether understood or recognized, this is the unchanging moral agendum from generation to generation."

Dear Diary

I was a very diligent journal keeper through my youth. And since kids are pretty funny, I thought I'd share an entry I came across today.

Dear Diary,
Last night was Christina's graduation from high school. She wore a white cap and gown. There was a tassel hooked on the cap. Like this. After wards we we went to Brick oven a resterant and ate pizza. The little robins in the tree hatched and have flown away. They were so cute at first you could see two little fuzzy heads pokeing their head out of the nest. I waited a few weeks after they had flew away to retreive the nest. To my suprise there was an egg left. I touched it and it was very cold so I thought I should keep it warm I got the egg and left the nest before we left to graduation last night I wondered if it was rotten so I stuck it in my pocket and my little brother Ryan, came and sat on my lap in the car. We were half way there and hit a bump. Yuck! What was so gooshy. I stuck my hand in my pocket to get the egg out of mess when I found out the egg was the mess. I told my parents I had to use the bathroom very badly. My dad said you'll just have to wait until we get there. Then everyone started asking "WHAT IS THAT SMELL!" So I joined in. My dad said open the windows. It was a relif when we got there, I ran ahead of everyone else to the bathroom before they could spy my pocket. I got in side a bathroom stall and scooped the yolk out of my pocket and rinsed it. And thats my story.
Charlotte Lundell

I still remember the blue and white gingham dress I was wearing. That was the last time I tried to secretly transport eggs in my pocket.
