Neal A. Maxwell

"Within the swirling global events- events from which we are not totally immune- is humanity's real and continuting struggle: whether or not, amid the cares of the world, we really choose, in the words of the Lord, to "care for the life of the soul." Whatever our anxious involvements with outward events, this inner struggle proceeds in both tranquil and turbulent times. Whether understood or recognized, this is the unchanging moral agendum from generation to generation."

Mein Fuss tut mir weh.

Troubles brewing. I'm through only my fifth consecutive week of running and I've hit a glitch: right foot, localized pain in arch (it feels like I'm walking on a bruise) for five days. I knew I needed to ease into this running thing, but come on! Is 6-9 miles a week too much?! The day after I increased my mileage, my foot KAPUTT.

I've resorted to a.)wearing my orthotics I gave up on years earlier b.)ibuprophen c.)ten minutes of ice three times a day.

If you think this is going to discourage me, contrare. I'm already addicted. I wake up before my alarm clock on running days because I'm so excited to hit the trail. But what am I going to do about this foot!?

Isn't that weird how shoes can fix things like that. I guess there is only one thing to do; buy new shoes. Shucks! (Hehehehe)
